madmouth commented on the word kuš na me, tol'ke livade
lit. "what are you coming at me for, the fields are so big", equivalent to "why you gotta pick on me?" this is exclaimed when one feels suddenly assaulted in discussion.
I chose the phrase largely for this remarkable verb form. "Kuš" is short but very rich in meaning; it translates very awkwardly to english (aorist verbs usually do) as "why are you coming" or "where are you coming from", or possibly "why you come so sudden-like?"
The apostrophe in "tol'ke" marks ellipsis (conveying a provincial dialect); the full word is "tolike" meaning "so/such large".
